An impressive event: life guards go in the sea with a torch. After the lifeguards come out the sea with their torches there is fireworks and entertainment.
The torch relay does not only honor the life guards, but also all other organizations that deal with safety at the Belgian coast. Also the maritime police and Ship Support get an applause from the public.
